About Extricom
Extricom is the award-winning Interference-FreeTM Wireless LAN System to deliver data, voice (VoWLAN) media and security. Unlike conventional WLAN, which is limited by its ability to adjust the channelization issues, delay-plagued AP-to-AP handoffs, and the upredictability of system brandwidth, Extricom ease these problems by inventing the concept of "Channel Blanket ". The Channel Blanket techology is based on a fully centralized WLAN artchitectures, in which the switch makes all of the decision of packet delivery on the wireless network. In this case, clients associate directly with the swtich, not with the APs. The AP acts as a "RF conduit" to rapidly funnel traffic between the clients and the switch. By deploying the APs in everywhere you need WiFi, Extricom allows the connectivity with predictable brandwidth by co-existenece of 802.11a/b/g/n channels on every APs. Application (voice, data, etc) is separated so as packet is deliveried under different physical layer.
The WiFi clients would not experience an AP-to-AP handoff (de-assoication and re-assoication) becuase channels are covered in the blanket's area. Inadequate capacity is no longer a issue for large deployment as the switch always chooses the best path for uplink and downlink.
Virtual network on the same channel
User may wish to configure Virtual switches to logically divide the switch to up to three individual switch, while each Virtual switch may be configured to different SSIDs. Clients can be assigned to connect to pre-defined set of privilege, setting and limitations (security definitions, access privileges and VLAN assignments, etc) of the newtork by specified SSID. Extircom supports up to 16 different SSIDs per channel, thus creating "virtual" network on the same channel. Therefore, user may categorize client by her user login, so every group/department is separated on independent channel layer.
